Gabriella Bottoni is a writer and comedic performer based in Los Angeles, CA. Though born and raised in an Italian-American bubble in northern New Jersey, she recently moved from Philadelphia, PA, where she studied screenwriting and performed at PHIT Comedy with improv house teams like Fjord, Dutch, and Page One. Here, she also taught an Episodic TV Writing course, coached improv teams, and produced a monthly table read featuring local screenwriters called “The Live Read with Gab Bottoni.” Gab has performed all over in festivals like the Del Close Marathon (DCM) and the Vancouver International Improv Festival (VIIF).
Currently, she studies improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), and continues to work towards her dream of one day creating in a writer’s room. She has been named a finalist in the Sundance Institute’s Episodic Storytelling Lab, the Youtube/Sundance New Voices Lab, and a semi-finalist in The Second City Sitcom Contest for her original teleplays.
In 2016, Gab received a BFA in Writing for TV & Film from the University of the Arts, where she won the Dr. Frederick P. Cornell Excellence in Writing Award, and became the first writer in the university’s history to be given the highest academic achievement, The President’s Award, for her original pilot, “Gab & Kev Make it Weird.”
